1. Overview

PocketRing is a smart audio management utility that leverages on-device hardware sensors (proximity, light, and motion) to dynamically adjust ringer volume based on whether the device is located in an enclosed pocket/bag or resting on an open surface.

2. Sensor Access & Audio Permissions

Proximity & Light Sensors: Read in real-time solely to infer whether the device screen is covered. Sensor values are processed in memory and are never recorded, logged to storage, or transmitted off-device.
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS: Required to adjust the ringer volume stream dynamically during incoming call events.
READ_PHONE_STATE: Needed to detect the start and termination of incoming calls so that the ringer volume is adjusted only while the phone is ringing.

3. Absolute Privacy

PocketRing collects zero personal data. It does not record audio, does not log phone numbers, and has no server-side telemetry or external data collection.
