1. Purpose of the Application

LastPing is a personal emergency and safety utility designed to ensure your loved ones receive your location if your mobile device reaches a critically low battery threshold or when you manually trigger an SOS emergency event.

2. Information We Access

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION: Used strictly to obtain the device coordinates when a critical battery event is detected or when an emergency SOS alert is initiated. Location data is acquired solely for transmission to your designated emergency contacts and is never sold or used for behavioral profiling.
Battery State Telemetry: Monitored locally on the device to determine when battery levels fall below your customized threshold (e.g. 5% or 10%).
SEND_SMS: Used exclusively to transmit the emergency coordinates and status alert message directly to your designated emergency contact phone numbers.

3. Data Protection & Confidentiality

Emergency contacts and dispatch logs are stored strictly inside the device's secure application sandbox. LastPing does not sell, license, or monetize your location coordinates or contact information to any third parties.

4. User Control & Data Erasure

You retain complete control over your emergency contacts and location triggers. You can update, clear, or revoke location permissions at any time via Android System Settings. Uninstalling the application deletes all locally stored configuration data immediately.
